Great apps for student notes: Ideas from NETA.  After attending the NETA conference I found that we are under utilizing Evernote.  With skitch it is a lot like Supernote that comes with the transformers, but in the cloud.  Evernote has the ability to take notes while recording audio, keep track of your different classes and for life, log where you have been share with people or teachers.  This also allows teachers to share PP's with students via url or through an email.  Another aspect is you can take webpages strip the ads and Evernote it. What a great way to do research for a paper, or for an upcoming board meeting or conference presentation. I will be presenting to all students 7-12 next year different apps to make their lives better.

Charging Problems

My Transformer will not charge what do I need to do?

This is a problem with the 101 model (brown) more then the others.  You need to charge the tablet without it being connected to the docking keyboard.  This is an engineering flaw that prevents the tablet from charging if it is completely dead.  You have to charge the tablet up to 3% before it will charge through the keyboarding dock.

Loading the Free Dictionary on My Transformer

How do I load the free dictionary on my Transformer?
In the play store, search for advanced English dictionary.  This is the icon you are looking for.  Install it and open it.  You can download the dictionary if you plan on typing papers offline or you can use the online version.  Open Office Suite Pro 6 and select the three vertical dots in the top right corner after you have a document open.  Go to settings, dictionary configuration, click on Advanced English Dictionary & Thesaurus, click the back button (bottom left corner).  Your spell checker is now working. 

Remember you cannot use the print Icon, it will look like it prints but it does not print.

Problems with downloading apps

I am having problems downloading apps with the school account what should I do?  This can be a common problem.  You have to go to the settings, accounts, select the school's account, press the three dots in the top right corner and remove account.  Press the add account, select Google account, existing, type in the appropriate account info (appsj@tricoun....org) for the senior junior account. Skip the credit card information, uncheck everything you do not want to sync.  You are done, go back to the play store and get the app.  If you still have problems contact Mr. Spahr.

Setting up cloud print

How do I setup cloud print?

If it is not installed it is Cloud Print by Paulo Fernandes looks like a white piece of paper with a blue square in the middle and a white cloud.  When you first open the app it brings you to a welcome page.  Click next (bottom right corner), select the appropriate app account, then done, click on allow access, click Google cloudprint ready, next, select the printer you want as your default, click yes, click next (do not print a test page).  CloudPrint is now setup and ready to go.  

Printing

I cannot print doc files please help.

You are right doc files will not print, but you can still print you files.  You have to open your drive app (not through the browser) and hold your finger on the document you want to print.  A menu will pop up after 5 seconds or so.  Select "Send" and select the cloud print icon.  If you have cloud print setup correctly all you have to do is click on print the document.

The reason for this is cloud print will only print PDF files, but if your settings were set before hand it will print with the correct margins, header,...

WiFi

My Transformer is not connecting to the school's WiFi.  What do I do?

You have a couple of choices: 1st check your wireless settings make sure you are connected to TricountySchool.  Do not modify the connection this is a good way to delete the password.

2nd restart your Transformer and look at the symbol in the bottom right if it is blue you are connected if not go to 3rd.

3rd find one the the computer students or Mr. Spahr and have them put in the password.
